Excavating the field

Once the grade of
the drain field is set you can easily maintain this grade from one end
to the other using a 2x4 and level, as illustrated.

| Here is a shot of
the drain field fully excavated before the sand is poured
in. The septic tank is at the far end. Notice the
outlet hole . The grade of the outlet hole is the depth of the sand and drain rock above the
grade the drain field.
