Covering the field
This is a shot of the septic system when it is ready for
inspection. The health inspector will need to check and approve this septic system prior to
burial.
| This shows the tank connecting with the drain bed before
it is covered. A roll of the tyvek roll material has been left for the health
inspector to check.
| Once it has
passed inspection the drainfield and tank can be buried.
Notice the white tubes sticking up. These are inspection tubes
and are a requirement for most areas. They run from the bottom of the drain field through
the sand and gravel layers. They should be placed after you have put
in the sand layer. In this picture we have spread the tyvek roll material and
covered it with a few shovels of dirt to hold in place. Then the excavator will
spread the dirt, which has been piled from the original excavation of
the tank and field, over top. Some shovel and rake work is always needed.
